SingStar 90s – Review

singstar90s.jpg“Don’t matter if it’s not good enough, for anyone else to hear . . .”

This WhatTheyPlay review is a beat you can’t touch! SingStar 90’s

I give it 4 out of 5 microphones and say it’s good for 10+ (8+ if the lyrics don’t bother you or if you let your kids listen to the radio.)

  1. These games sort of mess with the usual system of ratings – because while some of the lyrics have words that might give a game a E-10 rating, they are in music that is played on the ‘lite hits’ or in some cases the ‘oldies’ or ‘best of every decade’ stations. All of that would be considered ‘safe’, but in the game it counts against them.

  2. Sooo… it’s an entire SingStar devoted to songs that make you cringe to hear them? Awesome. I’d say that would be fun drunk, but this is a family blog =-)

  3. I would have loved to be without the rather more explicit song titles (“I Touch Myself” and “Bitch”).

My youth group loves the Singstar line of games, but I don’t think I’ll end up buying this one any time soon…

  4. “I’m a bitch I’m a lover I’m a child I’m a mother I’m a sinner I’m a saint. I do not feel ashamed.”

Sounds good for a Youth Group to me!

  5. Yeah, you wouldn’t want a song like Bitch, would you? A song about female empowerment is not something a Christian Youth Group should ever hear. I can see the masturbation song wouldn’t be popular with your type – but Bitch was a HUGE hit and was played on all kinds of radio.

In fact, the word Bitch is allowed on Prime Time TV. Welcome to the Stone Age, population: This Guy

  6. Don’t be like that people. Matt’s entitled to dislike anything he wants for whatever reason. Also, neither of those songs is particularly good anyway.
