Retro: GamerDad IN Freedom Force vs. The 3rd Reich!

ffgdbox11.jpgOnce upon a time Irrational Games liked GamerDad so much they put him in their game! Yes, now you can download GamerDad himself and use him to help Freedom Force fight evil, supervillains, and Nazis. Come in for the scoop. ‘Nuff said?

I became a fan of Freedom Force with their first release when I reviewed it for Computer Games Magazine. Just in time for GamerDad’s re-launch came the welcome sequel, Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich. As you can tell from the review I love the game, but was dismayed that I couldn’t easily use it to create GamerDad and use him in the game. Irrational’s Ken Levine felt my pain and contacted me. Soon he had his crack team of artists working on GamerDad and their own top artist Alexx Kay came up with something truly special.

Yes true believers, one day I opened my email and found GamerDad himself ready to join Freedom Force.

After installing him, I checked him out. Not only did they lovingly render our stalwart super-hero mascot, they gave him a host of hilarious super-powers.

GamerDad is nigh invulnerable, super-strong, and can fly. But it’s his power list that makes him truly special.

* Paternal Punch – a devastating roundhouse attack reserved for anyone who would harm children.

* Father’s Fury – a beam attack perfect for smiting evil-doers and innocence corruptors!

* Lullaby – GamerDad’s soothing song causes confusion among his enemies!

* Because I’m Dad! – GamerDad absorbs any damage dealt to him. Perfect to withstanding super-villain attack – or the brutal fury of a toddler.

* Dad’s Mad Now! – Don’t make GamerDad angry, you wouldn’t like him when he’s angry!

* Grounded! – GamerDad uses his fatherly powers to bring a flying foe back to the ground – to face a well-deserved time out!

We at GamerDad want to thank Irrational Games for putting so much effort into this and we invite all our readers to buy the game, download GamerDad, and follow the instructions carefully to install him and use him to help the forces of good defeat the forces of evil.

Because that’s what GamerDad is all about!
Excelsior, Irrational Games, Excelsior!

  1. I have to reinstall this. When I switched to Vista it wouldn’t work, but a quick googling shows that it should. Anyone who appreciates the Silver and Golden Ages of comics should have these games.

  2. Will have to get this then…
