Some great questions this week! Like, what games are good for kids with Asperger Syndrome? We also get caught walking in a spiderweb and we talk about how a mix of slapstick violence and cartoon flatulence can give a game a “Teen” rating. All this and more; Ask GamerDad!

I like the “no fart attacks” rule. That’s right up there with my “no rocket fuel in the house” rule. 🙂

I feel that, like Halo, keeping SSBB the same rating as the prior entry makes life easier for the ESRB.

Regarding the last question, I think that the ESRB is becoming pretty unreliable. This rating system put Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 in the same rating as Grand Theft Auto 4, Manhunt and Condemned 2. It’s also starting to get a little unfair. Just compare The Dark Night (PG13) to Halo 3 (M).

Yeah, five years ago I advocated a 15 rating in print and media, the ESRB went with E-10 which was also a good idea. I really do think the M needs to be split to seperate the Condemneds, GTAs, Manhunts, from the Halos and Mass Effects.
Its the best way to solve the AO problem really. Just move the bar a bit downward.
