Indiana Jones Marching Band Show
I found something on YouTube that I have been looking for a long time. Back in high school I was in marching band and one year we did a show featuring music from the Indiana Jones movies. It was my favorite show out of all that we did when I was in high school.
We even placed pretty high in the State competitions that year (yes it was 92, I’m SO OLD as Jeff would say). I played Bass Trombone, which is like a regular trombone except bigger and sounds like a tuba.
I have a lot of good memories about that show. I helped design the T-shirts that year that we all wore out during band trips. At one point in the show, we make an airplane like the one that flies over the map, and the color guard would spin propellers. I still have one of their practice propellers in my room! A few years earlier when Last Crusade came out, I won a contest and got an official Indiana Jones fedora. I wore it during practices on that show and me wearing it became pretty famous and almost a ‘good luck’ charm during practices.
Anyway, the music in this show includes the main theme, map/travel/plane song, motorcycle chase theme (drum solo), theme of love, Temple of Doom song, and the main theme reprised. We practiced the show so much that years later, whenever I pop in a Indy movie or play one of the LEGO Indiana Jones games, I REALLY know the music! Here’s the link to the show:
