Hola! Amiibos! (Mario Party Wave)

AMIIBO_LOGOGot a new batch of Amiibos recently, so here’s a blog about them.  Nintendo just released Mario Party 10 and put out a series of Super Mario Amiibos to go with them.  Check ‘em out here!

Below is a picture of all of them in their packages.  From left to right, top to bottom, we have Luigi, Mario, Peach, and then Toad, Yoshi, and Bowser.  Only one I don’t have is a gold Mario, which I think was sold exclusively at Wal-Mart.  If I couldn’t get the exclusive Meta Knight and Lucario figures from the last wave, I knew not to even TRY to get the gold Mario one now.  I guess if I really wanted a Gold Mario, I could just cover my regular one with gold paint.  But that would be silly.  Also, I think you could only get the Mario Amiibo by buying Mario Party 10, but I’m not sure.

PARTY1

And here they are out of their packages.  I love how huge Bowser is, and how small Toad is.  Yoshi’s eyes veer off to the left, like he’s looking at something suspicious.

PARTY2

I haven’t played Mario Party 10 yet, so I don’t know exactly how the Amiibos work.  But I think you can scan them to unlock certain special boards where you use your virtual Amiibos like playing pieces.  Any Mario themed Smash Bros. Amiibo will also work as well, even Rosalina!  Also, the Toad one will work with Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.  Just scan the little guy in before a level and you can unlock a hide and seek mode where you must find a Pixel Toad somewhere in the stage.  Tap it to find it and complete the level.  You can’t keep any coins or whatever you get in the level when you do this, but at least you can get an extra stamp in your book so it’s not completely pointless.  And that’s all for the Super Mario Amiibos!  Next time, I’ll talk about Wave 4 (or would it be Wave 5?).  I hope I can get those, since one is supposed to be Pac-Man!  Hopefully I can reserve them soon!  –Cary
