It Was a Good Day Amiibo Hunting
A few weeks ago, Nintendo released their latest batch of Amiibo figures. And thanks to a family member, I was able to get all the ones I wanted from that set. So I thought I’d showcase them here, as well as some that I imported that I figured would be hard to get otherwise.
First, here are all the new Amiibo figures I got still in their boxes. From left to right, top to bottom we have: Bowser Jr. (Toys R Us exclusive), Dr. Mario (Target exclusive), Olimar, Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, and Mario 30th Anniversary Classic. On the bottom are two I imported: Meta Knight and Palutena.
Earlier this summer, I imported three figures that I thought would be hard to get. I found them 20 bucks each with free shipping, which is a pretty darn good deal for an import. So here is a picture of those. I imported a Zero Suit Samus but I managed to find a US one. Meta Knight was an exclusive at Best Buy and near impossible to get in the US, and I really wanted one as he is a Kirby character. I’m glad I got one, too, because he looks really cool. Finally is Palutena from the Kid Icarus series. I love the detail on this figure, so I’m glad I imported it. I heard it was an Amazon only exclusive. Why do they make these things so hard to get? Even though I didn’t like the gameplay in Kid Icarus: Uprising, Palutena was a funny character in that game. One interesting thing is that import Amiibo figures come with a little instruction sheet, so I included that in the picture. Look at Meta Knight being a mac daddy between those two lovely ladies! Ha ha!
Next are the other ones I got. From left to right we have Ganondorf, Bowser Jr., Mario Classic, Dr. Mario, and Olimar. I’m very glad I got the exclusives Bowser Jr. and Dr. Mario. Bowser Jr. looks great in his clown car (the car and Meta Knight’s mask are shiny), and Dr. Mario is one of my mom’s favorite games. So why did I open all of them from the boxes? Because I wanted to use them and play with them in compatible games like Mario Maker, that’s why! Here’s a picture:
And finally here is a picture of some of the ones I got at different angles to show off the details. Ganondorf, the bad guy from Zelda games, has a really ornate cape and breastplate armor. I liked how they showed Dr. Mario’s stethoscope hanging down the back of his neck, and I was impressed that the Classic Mario Amiibo doesn’t look too weird from different angles. You use the Classic Mario Amiibo in Mario Maker to make a giant mushroom appear that can make Mario super big. And last is Zero Suit Samus because, well, you know. She looks so puny and wispy compared to the other chunkier Amiibo figures!
And that’s all the Amiibos I got. I was pretty happy with this Amiibo hunt. I’ll probably post more Amiibo pictures when the next batch comes around. Later! –Cary
