Free Skylanders Battlecast Card in Kid Cuisine Meals
Skylanders is a super-popular toys-to-life video game that features real figurines that you can scan into a game and play as those characters. I’ve been lucky to have the opportunity to review all the main Skylanders games here at GamerDad. Now there is also a collectable card game as well called Skylanders Battlecast, which you can also play on mobile devices. And for a limited time, you can get a free Skylanders Battlecast card in boxes of Kid Cuisine TV dinners (do they even call them TV dinners anymore?).
Here is a picture of the front of the box, so you know what to look for if your kids are interested. Supposedly there will be nine different meals featuring Skylanders, but I only saw two at the store I was at. There were some mini corn dog things and a “Magical Cheese Pizza.” According to the press release, other meals feature Skylanders shaped chicken nuggets and mac & cheese.
Inside each box is a free Battlecast card with Stealth Elf. The press release didn’t mention any others, so that may be the only one you get. So don’t expect to get different cards if you buy a bunch of Kid Cuisine meals. Here is a shot of the back of the box if you want any other details.
When I was little, they never had kid-themed TV dinners like Kid Cuisine, and I’ve never bought them for any kids I’ve been around. But I decided to get the “Magical Cheese Pizza” one since Spyro was on the box. The instructions for heating things up are poorly written and they never do tell you when to put the brownie in to heat. The cheese pizza is tiny and it comes with a packet of Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top, which I imagine a kid would make a big mess with. I don’t think I would’ve liked these TV dinners if they had them when I was young, but then, I was never a big fan of TV dinners anyway. I think the press release said the promotion runs until the middle of April, which is cutting it close for this article. But if your grocery stores are anything like mine, they’ll still have these special boxes even after that date. –Cary
