Let’s Bake Pokémon Cookies!

Pillsbury just released Pokémon themed ready-to-bake cookies.  They’re just sugar cookies with Pokémon related pictures on them.  You’ve seen cookies like this before, I’m sure, especially around holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and Easter.  I got some, so let’s check them out!  You might see more Pokémon products than usual this year since it’s Pokemon’s 25th anniversary.  So there’s also a bonus item at the end of this article as well!

Here’s a bigger picture of the front of the box.

And here’s the back of the box.  It has a game you can play while waiting for the cookies to bake.  I didn’t play it, though.

And here are the baked cookies!  Some look like Poke Balls and others look like Pikachu’s face.  I’m surprised they didn’t add red to Pikachu’s cheeks, or make the Poke Balls half white.  Maybe it looked weird or would’ve been too hard to do.  I dunno.

Back when I was in high school, Pillsbury made a similar ready-to-bake sugar cookie set that had a dinosaur picture on them (a Brontosaurus).  The outside part was chocolate and the inside part was peanut butter flavored.  Man those things were SO GOOD!  I would bake them all the time for me and my brothers.  I’m not really big into sweets, but I could eat those until I got sick.  I wish Pillsbury would bring those back! Anyone else remember them?

Anyway, that’s all I have to say about the Pokémon cookies!  At the end of this month, Nintendo is releasing New Pokémon Snap, and I’m really excited for that.  I might even write a blog closer to the release date about my favorite Pokémon spin off games!  So now let’s check out that bonus Pokémon item I mentioned earlier.

Pokémon Cards in McDonald’s Happy Meals.

So recently McDonald’s has Happy Meal toys based on the Pokémon card game.  You get a paper envelope with games on it, plus a pack of Pokémon cards inside.  You also get an extra thing like big stickers, smaller stickers with a backdrop to put them on, a box to put your cards in, or a photo frame for your most prized card, (or a photo of someone or something else).  Here’s a picture from the Happy Meal website.  It’s not very descriptive, though.

I think it’s weird that around the time they were doing these toys, Burger King also had Nintendo themed toys in their kids meals.  But that’s all for now!  Later!  –Cary

  1. I’m pretty disappointed those Pokémon cookies are not in Pokémon shapes.
