Pocket Witch (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X/S)

Help a little witch and her bat friend make it to the exit of a spooky castle in this single screen 2-D precision platformer.  Pocket Witch is available for all current consoles, but reviewed on PS4 here.

Your little witch can run and double jump, and that’s it.  You must make it to the door in single screen obstacle filled areas.  If you touch a dangerous object such as spikes or bad guys, you’ll disappear in a puff of smoke and must start the stage over again.  There are 30 stages in total, but this is one of those precision platformers that get really hard.  I couldn’t even get a third of a way through it.  Aside from the high difficulty, my other problem with this game was the controls were a little bit slippery, which is a big no-no with this type of game.

Kid Factor:

Pocket Witch is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence.  If you touch spikes or enemies you just disappear in a puff of smoke and that’s it.  Reading skill is helpful for some of the text, but not necessary just to play.  Younger gamers may get frustrated at the high difficulty, though.
