Lily in Puzzle World (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X/S, PC)
Help Lily, a pill-shaped happy face, get through 50 single screen puzzle platform stages in Lily’s Puzzle World. It’s available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.
Lily can only jump, but when she stands on blocks with symbols on them, certain things will happen. Blocks with arrows on them travel in that direction. Exclamation mark blocks will fall. And a block with a ball on it will turn Lily into a smaller ball shape so she can fit into tight spaces. The most important block is the one with the key on it, as that will open a door that you can go through to finish the level. Just make sure to avoid obstacles like spikes, pits, and spears or else you’ll have to start the level over again. There is a coin in each level you can get, but it’s usually more challenging. Use the coins to buy hats for Lily in the shop to wear.
Other than slightly stiff jumping controls, I really didn’t have much problem with this one. Even though it looks like one of those super hard precision platformers, it’s really not. The stages do get more challenging, but it’s all doable. I even got all the trophies! For that reason, I’d say this one’s at least fairly decent.
Kid Factor:
Lily in Puzzle World is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence. If you hit an obstacle, you just explode into little pink dots, but that’s it. Reading skill isn’t needed to play, but younger gamers may want help with the trickier jumps and puzzles.
