Hotel Hustle (Switch)

Help a couple of crazy cats run a hotel in Hotel Hustle on Switch. Check in guests, keep them happy, and clean the room when they’re done.  Do this quickly and efficiently to earn points and stars so you can move onto the next level.  Two can play at the same time, too!  It’s similar to other time management games like Overcooked.

In each level, you can earn points by checking in guests, fulfilling their requests, and cleaning the room when they’re done.  You have a time limit on each level and if you can rack up enough points, you’ll earn stars.  You’ll need enough stars to unlock the next level.  Move around with the control stick and interact with objects with the button.  To clean a room, you must make sure the bed is made and clean, and all drawers are shut.  Sometimes you need to go to the cleaning cart to pick up an item to clean the room, like a vacuum or disinfectant spray.  Then hold down the button on whatever needs to be cleaned.  You can press the R button if you need hints on what items need what kind of cleaning.  It’s very handy and you’ll probably want to have it on at all times.  When a room is clean, you can check in a guest at the front desk.  While in the room, the guest may request water or room service.  There are windows and fridges you can go to and find what they want.  And that’s pretty much what you do in the game.

I love the flat paper cutouts of the characters and artwork, and these types of games are usually pretty fun.  But there were some problems that kept me from staying interested.  I really wish you could view the whole hotel floor when running around, as it would help with getting the lay of the land.  And like other games of this ilk, they make it nigh impossible to get enough stars you need to move on if you only have one player.  But if you enjoy games like Overcooked and have family or friends around to play with you, you might want to check this one out.

Kid Factor:

Nothing violent or objectionable here.  Reading skill is helpful for some of the text, but not necessary just to play. Younger gamers may need help, though.  Hotel Hustle is rated E for Everyone.
