Ultimate Holidays (Switch)
Have you ever wanted to create your own vacation scenes on a postcard? Yeah, me neither. But if you ever wanted to, now you can with the Ultimate Holidays app on Nintendo Switch.
You can choose from four background scenes, a dock, beach, desert, or the mountains around Hollywood. Then you can place various buildings, plants, windows, amusement park rides, vehicles, and more on your scene. Kind of reminds me of Colorforms if anyone remembers those toys. I know they’re still around because I saw some at the dollar store recently. You can also rotate your objects and change the time of day and weather on your picture. When you are done, place a border around it and save it on the Switch. And that’s pretty much it.
The only problem I had with this one was the menu interface was a bit cumbersome at first, but I was able to figure it out after tinkering with it a bit. I can’t imagine this one holding anyone’s interest for very long, but the app certainly does what it sets out to do. I’m sure kids will like it at least for a bit, though.
Kid Factor:
Nothing violent or objectionable here, and reading skill isn’t needed. Kids do like to create their own scenes and pictures on apps and toys, so I can imagine they’d have at least some fun with this. Ultimate Holidays is rated E for Everyone.
