Neko Bento (Switch)
A Bento Box is a Japanese style lunch box. They’re usually pretty small, so arranging the food in them to fit as much as you can, and make it still look aesthetically pleasing has become somewhat of an art form. And now you can do that with Neko Bento on Nintendo Switch. It’s pretty much exactly like some games I’ve reviewed this past year featuring cats, dogs, and zoo animals. And now it’s with food.
In the middle of each level is a bento box, and food is scattered around it. Each type of food is a different size and shape and can be fit into the bento box in a grid. Highlight food with the L stick and move it with the A button and rotate it with the R button. When all the food is in the bento box, you can go onto the next level. There are nearly 100 levels in all. The only problem I had with this game is that it gets pretty hard about a quarter of the way through, and a hint option or level skip would’ve been nice. But otherwise it’s a decent little simple puzzler.
Kid Factor:
Nothing violent or objectionable here. Reading skill isn’t needed and the game may be considered somewhat educational as it enforces spatial relations. But younger gamers may find it difficult after a while. Neko Bento is rated E for Everyone.
