Ringo’s Roundup (Switch, PC)
Ringo is a bunny who happens to also be a postal worker. Help him drive around collecting all the letters and returning them to the mailbox in this puzzle game for Switch and PC (reviewed on Switch here).
In the game, there are five worlds with ten levels each. Every level is viewed in an isometric perspective and is tile based. You can highlight each tile and put an arrow or trampoline on it. Place the arrows so that Ringo’s car will drive in the right direction to gather all the mail. In that way it’s kind of like Chu Chu Rocket if anyone remembers that game. Trampolines will make his car jump over one space holes, and tiles will disappear when you drive over them, so keep that in mind. You have a limited amount to place so you’ll have to use your noggin to think where they need to go. Once all your tiles are placed where you want them, hit the L and R button and Ringo will automatically drive his car. You beat the level when you collect all the mail and make it to the post box. If you don’t get all the mail or bump into something or fall off the edge, you can start the level over as many times as you like.
When you pass levels and perform well, you can earn a blue diamond thing and when you have enough you can buy new colors for your car. The levels get pretty tough quickly but luckily you can use hints. Only minor problem I had with this one is that the menus are a bit fiddly to navigate, but that’s it. Otherwise it’s a fairly decent little puzzler.
Kid Factor:
Nothing violent or objectionable here. If you bump into something with the car, you just stop, and when you fall off the ledge you can just start over. Reading skill is helpful for the text and younger gamers may need help with the tougher puzzles. Ringo’s Roundup is rated E for Everyone.
