Amiibo…Amii-whoa!
Here’s another blog where I show off my Amiibo figure collection additions. This time we have the Classic 3-Pack, a couple of Amiibo figures included in recent games, and some exclusives I thought I wouldn’t be able to get! So let’s check them out!
Classic 3-Pack
The first is the Classic 3-Pack. This set features three characters in Smash Bros. that were from the early NES days and prior. We have R.O.B. the Robot, Mr. Game & Watch, and the Duck Hunt Dog. Here they are still in the packaging. As of this writing, I can still find these fairly plentiful in stores, so they’re not rare yet or anything.
And here they are out of the packaging. I think one of the reasons why they put this in a 3-pack was so they could include the extra Mr. Game & Watch poses. You see, Mr. Game & Watch is just a flat piece, so I guess Nintendo thought we should get more bang for our buck by adding three extra poses that you can easily snap into place on the Game & Watch Amiibo base. I guess that’s kind of neat. Each extra piece is under one of the Amiibo figures in the packaging. There is the parachute, Judge Hammer, and bell piece.
Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash
Recently Nintendo released a new Chibi-Robo game, and this one is a 2-D platformer! I wrote about the Chibi-Robo games in a blog a while back, too. You could get a version of the game that comes with a Chibi-Robo Amiibo, and when you scan it in, you can do various things. You can change into Super Chibi-Robo in the game, which I haven’t tried yet as of this writing. You can also save your high scores to the Amiibo figure and level it up, and open up a second floor of your Chibi-House in the game that lets you purchases little figurines. Here is what it looks like in the box:
When you take it out of the box, it’s packaged almost like any other Amiibo figure, except the top part is cut off a bit.
And here he is out of the box. He’s almost to scale on the actual size of Chibi-Robo, too! He’s also very metallic and shiny. And don’t worry, parents, you can’t actually plug him into an outlet. The notches are too wide to fit. I was worried about that, too, when I first saw the figure.
Yoshi’s Woolly World
This is a Wii U 2-D platformer and it is GREAT! It’s what Yoshi’s Story and Yoshi’s New Island should’ve been. The game’s graphics make everything look like yarn, and it has some really creative designs and gameplay mechanics. I like the crab enemies made out of a change purse and pinking shear claws. Anyway, Nintendo also made some Yarn Yoshi Amiibo figures to go with the game, and they are so adorable! I got all three colors. Here they are in their packaging.
And here they are in the palm of my hand. They’re going to take over the world with their cuteness!
Exclusives
Recently my friend at work was telling me that Best Buy got a new batch of Amiibos, and some were former store exclusives at other outlets! I couldn’t get to the Best Buy myself, but luckily my friend picked them up for me! There’s the Pokemon Greninja and Lucario, and Dark Pit. Here they are in the packages.
And here they are out of the box. Now all I’m missing is Robin, Ness, and the alternate color blocky Mario Amiibo.
And that’s all for now! By the way, I have an extra Bowser Jr. and Japan Import Zero Suit Samus still in the boxes if anyone wants to trade. I also have an extra Animal Crossing Limberg card, too. Later! –Cary
