Two or More (iOS)

TWO_BOXYou’ve probably played a variation of this puzzler and not even realized it.  In Two or More, the field is full of colored squares.  You must drag your finger across as many adjacent same colored blocks as you can.  When you do, they’ll disappear and you’ll get points.  Only difference between this and the many others like it is that in this one, you must make a path with your finger, not just tap on the squares, so you may not be able to clear all the squares depending on how they are arranged.  So it’s a bit trickier.  Two or More is available free-to-play (two bucks will remove the ads, though) for download on iOS devices, but reviewed on iPad here.

There are three modes of play.  In the main mode, you must clear as many colored squares as you can.  When you can’t clear out any more, the level ends and if you clear out enough squares, you may get bonus points.  To make it to the next level, you must pass a certain score.  After you play that mode, you’ll unlock the other two.  In Five Steps, you have five moves to get as high of a score as you can (the game saves your high score for each mode).  And last is Flash 60.  Here you have a minute to get as high of a score as possible.  But if you can match a lot of the same colored squares, seconds will be added to your timer.  But it’s harder than it sounds!  There may be other modes in a future update, as the last box on the menu says “Coming Soon!”

The only problem I had with this game was the touch screen controls.  Sometimes it wouldn’t match up the squares I was trying to clear, but I may have been going too fast.  This isn’t really much of an issue on the first two modes, but in the last one, it is since speed counts.  It’s an all right time wasting puzzle game, but I really prefer the ones where you just tap on the colored objects.

Kid Factor:

Reading skill is helpful for some of the menu text, but not necessary just to play.  Parental supervision is recommended for the in-game purchases and ads.
