Shuttlecock-H (Switch, PC)

This is a ‘bullet hell’ style shooter, except you don’t shoot.  Just avoid bullets.  All the while you collect hearts and unlock cute anime ladies with different outfits.  Not sure what those two things have to do with one another, but that’s what this game is.  It’s available on Switch and PC, but reviewed on Switch here.

First you’ll pick your stage.  There are two different ladies you can choose with one unlockable one.  You’ll view the action in space on the left side of the screen, with a portrait of the lady on the right.  All you can do is move around the screen and avoid waves of bullets.  Every so often, hearts will appear for you to collect.  You’ll want to try and collect as many as you can because that’s how you unlock the different difficulty levels.  If you get hit three times it’s Game Over.

There are also “CR Levels” but I don’t know what those are because I couldn’t unlock any.  You can also press a button to ‘boost’ and it drains a meter that refills over time.  I would say you should use it sparingly, but I have no idea what it does.  It didn’t seem to make me go faster or protect me from bullets either way.  You can view the anime ladies and outfits you’ve unlocked in a gallery, and that’s it.  Overall I found this game too hard and a bit dull, so I lost interest quickly.

Kid Factor:

Shuttlecock-H is rated M for Mature with ESRB descriptors of Nudity and Sexual Themes.  You can unlock increasingly suggestive outfits for your anime ladies to wear.  I didn’t notice any nudity, but maybe you unlock that later on further than what I could get to.  Because of that and the high difficulty, this one’s best for older gamers only.
