Alive Paint is a virtual coloring book program where when you finish a picture, it starts a little animation.  It’s available on PlayStation consoles and Switch, but reviewed on PS4 here.

You move around a cursor on the screen and have dozens of pictures to color.  You can only fill in areas, and can’t draw things yourself.  You have a selection of colors to choose and can undo moves and even get suggestions on where to start and what colors to use.  When you finish a picture, it’ll do a little animation.  You can stop and pause the animation, and even try to color it while it’s moving!

There are some nice touches to this one, like the fact that you can color in the title screen and menus!  The cursor speed moves around a bit too quickly for my liking and I wish you had more color choices.  I can’t imagine this one holding most people’s interest very long, but it might be fun for the very young.  I would think the Switch version would have touch controls in handheld mode, but since I didn’t review that one, I’m not really sure.

Kid Factor:

Alive Paint is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence.  Didn’t really notice anything like that here.  Reading skill is helpful for some of the menus, but not necessary just to play.
