Minecraft Gingerbread House

When I went to the Five and Below store a while back, I saw a Minecraft Gingerbread House kit for only 4 bucks or so.  I picked up a couple of them.  One for my nephew and twin nieces to do, since my nephew loves Minecraft (what kid doesn’t?).  And I picked up another one to do with my other brother’s stepson when we would do Christmas at my mom’s house.  So I thought I’d share that with you and show you what it looked like.

First of all, here’s a bigger picture of the box.

It comes with icing to stick the walls and roof together, and tiny little square shaped sprinkles to decorate the house with.  It’s not much, and doesn’t really look that Minecraft-y at all.  But again, it was only 4 bucks.

So here’s what our Minecraft gingerbread house looked like.  It’s really small, about the size of a baking soda box.  And yeah it doesn’t look like the one on the box, but I wasn’t about to sit there and make all those little brick patterns with icing, or stick those tiny little block sprinkles on it that meticulously.  But again, for only 4 bucks, it wasn’t bad to entertain some kids for about 15 minutes, and it’s great for young kids with short attention spans or adults who have no talent making gingerbread houses like myself.

And that’s all for now!  In the comments section, let me know what video game franchises you’d like to see gingerbread houses made out of.  A few years ago I posted a Mario Gingerbread Castle kit.  But what about a Zelda Gingerbread Castle?  Or an Animal Crossing house?  –Cary
