Come See Me @ the Penny-Arcade Expo!
The Penny-Arcade Expo opens tomorrow. For those not in the know, PAX is only 4 years old and has already grown to fill the Seattle Convention Center. I visited PAX last year (at Tycho’s invitation) and was very impressed by the crowd. A group of real gamers. 24 years old, future GamerParents, and enthusiastic, wonderful people. I’m hoping to get a few of them over here. After last year, I decided I wanted to hang with them some more. Read on for information on how you can see me at PAX ’07!
Sunday, 12:00pm – 1:00pm [ST B]:
Politics & Game Sanity
Andrew S. Bub, a nationally recognized journalist and expert on video games and media violence, is talking “Game Sanity.” A mixture of politics, sense, and video game history just for the PAX audience! Come on in and bring your political questions!
Sunday, 3:00pm – 4:00pm [ST C]:
Gaming with Children
Andrew Bub is The GamerDad, a nationally recognized expert on video games and media violence, and he’s bringing his famed “Smart Parenting & Violent Media” speech to PAX. Come learn the real history of violent media and its true effects on children, learn why games are good for kids and families, and please bring your GamerParenting questions too!
Saturday, 1:30-2:30 [ST B]:
I’m Getting Old: When Life Cuts Into Gaming
The average PAX-Goer is 24 years old. What does that mean? It means jobs! Responsibility! Mortgages! Kids! Families! And what that means is a serious lack of time for games. Hear from Gamerdad and others of the mature persuasion on managing their lives while still managing their raids.
Speakers: Brian Yeung (Microsoft), Andrew Bub (GamerDad), John Williamson (Zombie Entertainment), Mike Mika (Backbone Entertainment)
