iCarly is one of Nickelodeon’s most popular shows for tweens, and now fans can help Carly and her friends serve crazy foods to cantankerous customers in iCarly: Groovy Foodie. Carly and pals are performing community service around famous locations from the TV show by cooking and serving food. The dishes and patrons are as crazy and random as the show, so they’ll need your help, too!

In the game, there are four lanes where customers creep down. Carly slides down food to satisfy the hungry mob. If three people make it to the end of the line and get impatient and leave, you’ll have to start the stage over again. If this sounds a bit familiar, that’s because the game plays a lot like the arcade classic Root Beer Tapper. But there’s a little more to it than that.

First of all, there are several different kinds of customers. Some take more than one serving to feed, while others can cause mischief to slow you down. Luckily, Carly’s friend is in the kitchen cooking up all sorts of dishes. You can select five dishes to take with you in each stage. Each food has a different effect. Some foods have more than one serving, while others can feed multiple people. The donut on a stick, for instance, serves one person and the customer behind them. Each food takes a different amount of time to prepare, so you’ll have to take that into consideration, too.

As you play, you’ll earn Bacon Bucks that you can use to buy new power-ups and dishes. There are achievements to unlock as well, which will give you even more Bacon Bucks. Play control is entirely stylus and touch screen driver, and is easy to figure out. Surprisingly, this game is kind of fun in an arcade classic sort of way. But then, it was made by WayForward (makers of Shantae, BloodRayne Betrayal, and the upcoming Double Dragon Neon), so that’s not such a surprise after all.

Kid Factor:

iCarly: Groovy Foodie is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Comic Mischief. Reading skill is a must for the text instructions and descriptions, and some players might get a little frustrated and need a little help with some of the tougher stages. Fans of the show and anyone who enjoys simple arcade fun should still like it, though.
