In the 15 plus years that I’ve been writing for newspapers and Web sites (including this one), I’ve written about all manner of video game reviews, edutainment titles, controllers, accessories, and gadgets, and even a couple of movie reviews. But I don’t think I’ve ever done a book review before now! So here’s a short mini-review! A Most Mizerable Christmas is a children’s book written by Mick Foley, a WWE Legend. The story tells about what happens when a school bully learns a lesson about Christmas.

The book is written entirely in rhyme, and is basically a retelling of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Just replace the Grinch with a bully, and the Who-ville citizens with his classmates. Nearly all the characters are kid versions or likenesses of other professional wrestlers, so if you aren’t into all that WWE stuff, you probably won’t get into the book as much. Some of the transitions between pages seem a little jarring. In one moment, the bully is in his house, and on the next page, the kids are playing outside in the snow. It almost feels like you skipped a page. It certainly won’t replace the classic Grinch tale, but despite all this, if you have kids who love professional wrestling on TV, I think they’ll get a kick out of this book, too. –Cary
