Adventure Time: Card Wars (iPad)
There is an episode of Adventure Time, a popular Cartoon Network show, where boy Finn and his magical dog Jake play a game called Card Wars. The episode spoofs real life collectible card games like Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and Magic: The Gathering. And now, you can play Card Wars on iOS devices (reviewed on iPad here). Play as and challenge characters like Finn, Jake, BMO, Marceline, Princess Bubblegum, and more! Yes, you can even “Floop the Pig” just like in the cartoon!
Cary’s Super Bowl Commercial Round Up 2014
Well, another Super Bowl has come and gone. It’s almost like a national holiday now. And like most national holidays, I have a tradition. And for Super Bowl, my tradition is talking about the commercials in a blog. Now, I know you can watch them all on YouTube now, but it just doesn’t feel right to me. Plus, I just like commercials period. Yeah, I know, I’m weird. But anyway, here’s my play by play commentary on this year’s Super Bowl ads!
VeggieTales Appisode: 3 Builders (iPad)
Personally, I LOVE VeggieTales. It’s a fun computer animated series that combines great humor with Bible based lessons and values. And now Larry the Cucumber, Bob the Tomato, and the rest of the gang are entering into the 21st century with an interactive episode of VeggieTales for your iPad or iPhone (reviewed on iPad here).
WWE 2K14 Strategy Guide (Book)
Pokemon Visual Companion (Book)
If you’re a big fan of the long-running Pokemon anime, and you want to be the very best, the best that ever was, then you’ve got to check out this new hardcover book. It covers everything you ever wanted to know about the characters, Pokemon, battles, and adventures in the book’s more than 200 pages! Now, keep in mind that this book is just about the anime cartoon show. It doesn’t have anything about the games in it. But it’s still a high quality piece of work, so let’s take a look inside!
Ski Safari Adventure Time (iPad)
Get ready for an avalanche of adventure with Ski Safari Adventure Time! This downloadable game, available on the App Store and Google Play (reviewed on iPad here), takes the existing fun of the original Ski Safari title and adds a huge helping of Adventure Time characters and humor from Cartoon Network’s hit show. And it’s pretty fun and addicting, too!
Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! (360, PS3, Wii U, 3DS)
Adventure Time is one of Cartoon Network’s most popular animated series, with tons of episodes (at least one even won an Emmy), as well as other products and even a previous console video game that I reviewed about this time last year (click here to read that). Now Jake, Finn, and the rest of the Adventure Time crew are ready to go multiplatform in a brand new quest (360 version reviewed here). Criminals are escaping from Princess Bubblegum’s dungeons, and she doesn’t know why. So she sends Ooo’s bravest heroes down into the depths of the dungeons to find out what’s going on down there. Play as Jake, Finn, and a host of other Adventure Time friends in this multiplayer dungeon crawler.
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures (3DS)
Last week I reviewed Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, a new 3-D platforming romp starring video game icon Pac-Man and based on the new computer animated cartoon on Disney XD. Well, the 3DS version is a totally different game, with a new story and 2-D platforming gameplay. So I decided to review it separately.
Ben 10: Omniverse 2 (360, PS3, Wii U, 3DS, Wii)
In the popular long-running Ben 10 animated series on Cartoon Network, boy Ben saves the universe by changing into powerful alien beings with a special wristwatch-like device. In the newest video game based on the franchise: Ben 10 Omniverse 2, there are two different types of gameplay: continuously running platformer and arena style beat ‘em up (360 version reviewed here).
