Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-bit Land (3DS)

REGULAR_BOXMy current favorite Cartoon Network animated TV program is Regular Show. While Mordecai and Rigby have been slacking around in games on the Internet and tablets for some time now, this is their first time featured in a console game. In Mordecai and Rigby in 8-bit Land, the two get a package in the mail with a brand new game console inside. But when they plug it in and turn it on, they get sucked in! Now you must help them escape the challenges of an 8-bit 80’s inspired world in this 2-D platform jumping/shooter hybrid.

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures (Wii U, 3DS, PS3, 360, PC)

PAC_BOXFor more than 30 years, Pac-Man has delighted gamers all across the world, and he’s still popular after all this time. In fact, Pac-Man has a brand new cartoon airing on Disney XD right now called Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. I wrote an article about it a couple of months ago, you can check it out here (and while you’re at it, you can read about the iPad game that goes along with it). Now there is a home console video game based on Pac-Man’s new cartoon adventures. It’s available for most of the current consoles, but reviewed on Wii U here. I’ll be reviewing the 3DS version separately, as it’s a different kind of game. In the Wii U title, the leader of the ghosts Betrayus has stolen a giant freeze ray, and now Pac-Man and friends must stop him from using it to turn everyone into Pac-sicles. Help Pac-Man chomp ghosts and overcome obstacles in this 3-D platform jumping adventure.

Regular Show: Ghost Toasters (iPad)

REGULAR_BOXFor the week of Halloween, we’re going to celebrate here at GamerDad with some spooky kid-friendly iPad games! The first is based on one of my favorite Cartoon Network TV programs: Regular Show. In the game, Mordecai and Rigby are horsing around while driving the park golf cart when they crash into the hot dog stand. The impact sends hot dogs with a special ghostly sauce into the graveyard, awakening thousands of ghosts that threaten to invade the park. Luckily the hot dog vendor gives our two heroes special ghost weapons to stop the spirits from taking over their park. Ghost Toasters is available for iOS devices, but reviewed on iPad here.

Wipeout: Create & Crash (3DS, Wii, Wii U, 360)

WIPEOUT_BOXThe popular TV obstacle course game show (is it even still on?) is back in video game form for the fourth time! The previous games kind of ‘wiped out’ so to speak, but they may have hit the right mark with this one. Not only does this entry have better controls and endless amounts of obstacles and courses, but now you can create your own challenges, too! It’s available for 3DS, Wii, Wii U, and 360, but reviewed on 3DS here.

DUCK_BOXI can describe this title in five words: ‘This game is my childhood.’ I think that’s worth repeating in all caps. THIS GAME IS MY CHILDHOOD.
