This Week in Games: Feb. 1 – 7

Very thin release schedule this week. The two biggest releases this week are the Wii game Tenchu: Shadow Assassins and the PC release of Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box. Thanks again for the replies to the ‘now playing’ lists – I love to learn about games by reading other opinions, so keep them coming! Check out the list! more…

This Week in Games: Jan. 25 – 31

Not too much of note this week. The two biggest releases this week are the multi-platform Afro Samurai and Coraline, both based on licensed franchised – the first a cartoon and the second the upcoming stop-motion film. Thanks to all who chimed in with their ‘now playing’ lists … it is great to see what everyone is enjoying! Check out the list! more…

This Week in Games: Jan. 18 – 24

We have finally hit a week where every platform has at least something new. The two biggest releases this week are the multi-platform Skate 2 and the PSP ‘enhanced’ port of Star Ocean: Second Evolution. The first game was fun but flawed, and I’ll certainly be coming back with first-hand experiences from this one next week. Another new thing – after the list of new games I’ll add a quick list of stuff I’m playing now – add your own list in the comments! Check out the list! more…

This Week in Games: Jan. 11 – 17

We are just starting to see the beginning of the 2009 releases hit. The big release this week is the multi-platform Lord of the Rings: Conquest, along with the PC port of Mirror’s Edge and not much else of significance. Check out the list! more…

An RPG for PSP for Lil’ Old Me

The PSP is an excellent system that I almost never have time for.  Henry noticed that I have Burnout Paradise but that’s about it as far as games I’d take to a desert island. Consequently I haven’t been following the RPG scene on the little handheld. Good, bad, Japanese, what? Good thing I have a guy named MIKE ANDERSEN who works for RPGWatch and handles our own THIS WEEK IN GAMES.  Please help him! Post your answers in the message board that appears after you enter the article.   Good RPGs for PSPs and WHY?  Bonus Points for whomever can identify the screen shot upper left.  Questioner is probably between 14-18.  Keep that in mind.

This Week in Games: Jan. 4 – 10

As the new year begins, we still have scant few new releases. Great time to deal with the ‘hangover’ from the massive list of fall releases! Check out the list! more…

This Week in Games: Dec. 28 – Jan. 3

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, Happy Hanukah, are enjoying Kwanzaa, or are just enjoying some time off. Another minimal release week with nothing really worth highlighting. Check out the list! more…

This Week in Games: Dec. 14 – 20

By now the publishers are obviously assuming that you have either bought everything you have planned to buy, are out of money, or are focused on the upcoming holiday. Whatever the reason, the busy fall release season is pretty much over. Big releases this week? The Wii release of Rock Band and the XBOX360 / PS3 / PC releases of Rise of the Argonauts. Check out the rest of the list! more…

This Week in Games: Dec. 7 – 13

The dwindling release list continues to shrink as we get nearer to Christmas. This week we have only fourteen releases, which would have been a slow release week for the DS just a month or so ago! There are no real big releases, mostly just new versions of stuff that came out in previous weeks and a couple of hold-overs from prior weeks. So my choice is the sequel to a PSP game that I thought had a great idea if a lackluster implementation:Dungeon Maker II: The Hidden War. Check out the rest of the list! more…

This Week in Games: Nov. 30 – Dec. 6

The new releases are definitely starting to wind down for the holiday’s – aside from a load of DS shovelware most platforms are pretty thin on new games. The biggest release this week comes from the multiplatform release of Prince of Persia. Their is also a multiplatform release of Tales of Despereaux in anticipation of the big holiday movie release. Other than that it is mostly minor releases and leftivers fromprevious weeks. It is interesting that the PSP again has no releases, and last week’s Mytran Wars has yet to appear at retail, making it 3 of 4 weeks with no new games. Check out the rest of the list! more…
